Ok, I have a follow up question to the one above. Could you please explain what “bonuses” or “ratings boost” the cpu receives on All-Madden? I guess the easier way to ask this is, What are the differences between ALL-PRO and ALL-MADDEN? (countryboy)
Jumping to All-Madden only affects a few things, but those effects are pretty pronounced. You can consider it a global ratings modifier for things like Awareness, Play Recognition, Block Shedding, Man/Zone Coverage, Tackling, and a few others. We do NOT modify speed. What you see in essence is the defense reacting much faster, breaking blocks much quicker, and tackling much more consistently. There aren’t all that many offensive adjustments other than the Awareness mod, which definitely helps out the CPU QB.
With Madden 09 will I be able to set the game up so it will play CPU vs CPU and I can watch the CPU battle it out? (JMD, gtm)
Yes, you can do this in 09.
Will there be more risk to blitzing this year? In previous Maddens it felt like people blitzed a high percentage of the time because DB’s in single coverage still knocked down/INT the ball a extremely high percentage of the time. (Shamrock)
It’s tough to say for sure on this one. I think on one hand you have some people saying they can complete every pass when they are user controlled, whereas you’re saying the defenders can always bail you out with just solo man coverage. I think we’ve definitely got some pretty good tuning on the ability for DB’s to stay with their guys (based on ratings), so now you can’t leave scrub DB’s out there on an island…they’ll get torched. There are much fewer INT’s this year though, mainly because we drastically tuned down the amount of “warping” you’d see by defenders with our new catch system.
