Madden Gurus - Forum Rules

*These rules also apply for the shoutbox.
1. No fighting: personal attacks and bickering are not allowed. Healthy disagreement is welcomed, but do not flame ideas or another person unless in "The Dungeon". And even there, racism is NEVER tolerated..
2. Avoid NSFW and offensive posts, images, and links.
"NSFW"= Not Safe For Work (This will be defined as what most mainstream employers would not find appropriate for an employee to be viewing during work hours.) This includes nudity, porn, inappropriate cartoons and videos, etc.
"Offensive" will be defined as anything that incites anger or bad feelings directed at a persons race, sex, social status, religious preference, sexual preference, appearance, etc.
3. Anything relating to pornography/nudity will be dumped.
This applies to post content as well as pictures. The Lounge and the rest of the messageboard are for people of all ages. Please use discretion and common sense. When in doubt, please ask a moderator if something is appropriate or not before you post it.
4. Swearing: Swearing is not permitted. An infraction is also given for word filter circumventing.
5. No racism or homophobia in any form will be tolerated.
6. Don't share user accounts or create multiple accounts.
7. Don't spam, troll, or harass.
8. Don't post illegal content.
9. Advertising/Soliciting: no advertising or soliciting in self promotion in any form. This includes linking to or advertising other products or web sites in your posts or in your signature. It also includes soliciting of any kind. We allow one exception: if you need to link to a gaming related article one time basis.
10. Signatures: Linking to sites other than Madden Gurus is not allowed. Your signature is limited to a maximum of 5 images. Any image greater than 550 pixels in width or 250 pixels in height will be removed. If the sum of the file sizes of the images is greather than 50 KB, all images will be removed.
11. User Names - Anyone user name that contains profane words will be deleted from the message board. Note that this is not a ban, as you can re-register using a different name. Added: January 23,2006 – Multiple active user names,however, are discouraged, and the staff reserves the right to delete or ban backup/secondary usernames. Note, if one username is banned, that does not give a member license to create a new one in order to circumvent a ban.If you are given a temporary ban, and create a new username in order to bypass the suspension, your suspension will be increased. If you continue to use a name that contains profanity or maybe harmful to children's eyes, you will be banned.... it’s as simple as that.
12. Private Conversation: If you talk to another member via email/IM/PM then please do not post that message. The conversation between the two of you is PRIVATE and not for the other 10,000+ people to read.
13. Quoted Text: You may not alter someone else's words and use it as quoted text. Previously, this had long been an "unwritten rule" followed by all. But it now must be added.
14. Posting Articles: Please do not post an entire article. Instead, post the first three or so sentences, and then include a link to that article. The reason is simply due of copyright issues.
15. Moderation: Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to edit or delete your thread or post without consulting you first. Moderators and Super Moderators also have the right to act without consulting an Administrator first.
16. Annoyance: Individuals who detract from the site through ongoing incivility, immaturity, and/or disrespect for the contributions and responsibilities of others may be afforded maximal opportunities to spend their time elsewhere.

If you find a post that violates any of the above rules, please click the "report" button and notify a moderator. Moderators cannot be everywhere and do not see every post, so utilizing the report button can assist us in keeping the forums a nice place to visit. Thank you for your help.

Members who fail to follow the board rules will receive appropriate warnings and possible suspensions. If you persist in breaking forum rules, you may be banned permanently from this website.

Warnings:

* 1st offense: 1st Infraction is sent with warning. (Infractions expire in 90 days)

* 2nd offense: 2nd Infraction is sent with warning. (Infractions expire in 90 days)

* 3rd offense: 3rd Infraction is sent with 30 day banning. (Infractions expire in 90 days)

* 4th offense: Permanently banned

* Depending on severity of the case and at the moderator's discretion.
(Note: If another account is created after being banned, that account will also be banned.)

MaddenGurus.com expects all members to be guided by common sense, professionalism, cooperation, and respect for others when posting on the forums. We realize that not everybody will like or agree with all of our rules. Still, if you would like to be a part of the community, please do your best to post accordingly and be a cooperative contributing member to this online forum.
