Regarding NCAA Football 13 there was a desperately needed positive shift in momentum*that coincided with EA Sports rolling out presentation and gameplay news. Now with the same details recently made available for Madden NFL 13 the opportunity presents itself to check the temperature on that title as well.

In terms of gameplay both Madden and NCAA have announced enhancements – things like additional pass trajectories, improved play action, and read-and-react defensive AI. Where Madden had made a stronger push in early news is with presentation including a brand new broadcast team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, improved pre-game intros, new graphics package, a live ticker – and there appears to be some sort of studio show on the way as well.

The next big Madden push will come with the press conference on June 4 heading into E3 when “Connected Careers” and the supposed “monumental change to gameplay” will be announced.

Use 4-3 over/under free fire. Spread the d-line out and crash them out. User the OLB on top of the formation (not the on next to the DE) Position him between the DT and MLB so they appear stacked. OLB will have a clear path to hit RB on counter in backfield, or if fast chase down RB from behind. Sometimes i use a dime defense and audible to the 4-3 blitz so i have a CB that blitzes. The DE will crash out and close cutback lanes while the CBs and safeties in man coverage rapidly converge on the RB.

I went from allowing 200+ rush yards per game against people the run this offense to allowing 40-60yds per game.


note: some users will audible a run to the middle of the field. Do not change anything! The player drops back a lot and goes from side to side and throws on the run. Nothing under center also no scheme is being told or relay to the viewer.Also nothing is being descibe such as plays and the full use of them to the scheme that is being ran or use. Same goes on defense nothing is being spoken of such as your base defense or the defense that you use to get pressure on your opponet. Im not trying to be negative but it would help the average player get better if these gurus would give a little more information to help. Such as scheme plays or describing how they read the defense or set ups for defense plays that help them come up with defense stops. Just yesterday one of the improvements for Dynasty mode in NCAA Football 13 was revealed to be studio updates*featuring Rece Davis. It now appears that Madden NFL 13 will have it’s own studio look-ins but with Trey Wingo anchoring the desk.*Wingo tweeted that he was working with EA Sports on the upcoming title and has posted a picture of the green screen set.

It’s likely that news on Wingo’s inclusion and purpose will be explained along with the rollout of details on “Connected Careers” come June 4 – that appears to encompass everything related to Franchise and Superstar modes.
